Experience the sunny side of Telemark! This diverse cycling tour takes you from the vibrant center of Bø, through historic cultural landscapes, past idyllic swimming spots, and all the way to the iconic Telemark Canal. The route perfectly blends modern student life with deep historical roots.

Route Highlights

1. Bø Old Church – A Medieval Treasure

Start your journey in Bø city center with a visit to Bø Old Church (Bø gamle kyrkje). This medieval stone church, built between 1150 and 1180, is one of only 17 remaining "Olav’s Churches" in Norway. A must-see for history enthusiasts!

2. Norheimstjønnet – The Region's Warmest Waters

Need a break? Norheimstjønnet is famous for being one of the first lakes to reach comfortable swimming temperatures in the summer. It features a charming beach that is a favorite among the locals.

3. The "Troll" Car – Norwegian Industrial History

Along the route, you will pass the site of the Troll car—Norway’s first real attempt at large-scale automobile production. It’s a fascinating stop for anyone interested in technical history.

4. Lunde – The Village of Flowers

The tour concludes in the pleasant village of Lunde, the gateway to the Telemark Canal. Lunde is well-known for its beautiful floral displays that decorate the streets throughout the summer.
