Locks

Hjellebrygga guest harbour in Skien is located right after the Skien lock in the Telemark Canal. Short distance to shopping centres, cafes and restaurants.

The Løveid locks at Skotfosss has 3 lock chambers and an elevation of 10.3m and connects lake Norsjø and the the "Fare River".

The lock system has three chambers with a total height of 10.7 meters. The walls of the lock is built of hewn stone, while the gates are made of wood. The gates are manually operated. Ulefoss lock was completely renovated in 2012.

Eidsfoss sluser ligger i den opprinnelige Bandak-Norsjøkanalen som ble påbegynt i 18xxx og offisielt åpnet i 1892. Slusene i Bandak-Norsjøkanalen er ikke forandra siden de ble bygd og er under fredning.

Vrangfoss has five chambers with a total lifting height of 23 meters.

Lunde sluse er et trafikknutepunkt. Her møtes kanalbåtene i høysesongen. I løpet av en snau time sluser tre båter opp og ned. Hit kommer busslaster med passasjer, og folkelivet er travelt. Gjennom Lunde går det både jernbane, kanal og vei.

Skien sluse er en del av den første utbyggingen av Telemarkskanalen, Norsjø-Skienkanalen, som blei påbegynt i 1854 og offisielt åpnet i 1861.

Hogga sluser har to kamre som løfter båten sju meter, fra 65 m.o.h. til 72 m.o.h. Det er 64 km igjen til Dalen. Fra Skien har båten seilt 41 km.  I Hogga står det ei gultmalt vaktbu lik den vi finner i Vrangfoss.
